The headline that has been the topic of discussion for the Indianapolis Colts the past few seasons is the health of Andrew Luck. This offseason is no different, as Colts GM Chris Ballard says it's a “critical offseason” for Luck.

Here's an excerpt from Ballard's statements on the Colts signal-caller, courtesy of Colts beat writer Kevin Bowen:

“I think it’s a critical offseason for him, because I think it’s one where he’s not rehabbing, so now it’s just focusing on continuing to get better fundamentally and then delving into the offense and really becoming an expert in the offense,” Ballard said of Luck earlier this week. “The way he ticks. He’s such a perfectionist. He’s a legitimate worker. He wants to be great.

“For him, this offseason to take another step in his game I think is going to be fun to watch for everybody.”

This comes after the 2018 season where Luck started in all 16 games after missing all of 2017 due to a serious shoulder injury. In 2018, Luck lit it up by throwing for 4,593 yards, 39 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions.

There was absolutely uncertainty if Luck would return to his talented self. He proved many doubters wrong in 2018 by winning the NFL Comeback Player of the Year Award.

Nevertheless, with the competitive nature that Luck possesses—he'll be looking to get even better for 2019. One of the biggest reasons Luck was able to be comfortable in the offense in 2018 was the bulked up offensive line.

The Colts offensive line allowed just 18 sacks on Luck during the regular season. This comes after the Colts allowed a league-high 56 sacks in 2017.

Like Ballard said himself, it's going to be fun to see the next step for Luck to improve his game.
