Unfortunate news for the Indianapolis Colts: the team is going to be without defensive tackle Tyquan Lewis for the rest of the season, and will not have wide receiver T.Y. Hilton for Thursday's game vs. the New York Jets.

Lewis suffered a season-ending knee injury in Sunday's loss to the Tennessee Titans, according to head coach Frank Reich.

“Really unfortunate, he was really playing well yesterday,” Reich said, per IndyStar's Joel A. Erickson.

The 26-year old has emerged as one of the Colts' best defensive players. He's played 68.4 percent of the team's defensive snaps this season and has registered 14 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and six quarterback hits. Lewis' absence further depletes an inconsistent defensive line. Ben Banog, Isaac Rochel, and rookie Dayo Odeyingbo will be expected to step up in his wake.

Lewis will be a free agent this offseason. He's spent the first four years of his NFL career in Indianapolis.

Hilton is in the NFL's concussion protocol, so he won't be able to face the Jets on Thursday. He hit his head hard on the turf with 8:46 left in the fourth quarter after going up for a pass from quarterback Carson Wentz. The veteran wideout walked off the field on his own.
