The Indianapolis Colts may be the hottest team in the NFL at the moment, but they are opening up as 5-point underdogs on BetOnline.ag for their Divisional Round matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs next Saturday.

This doesn't come as much of a surprise.

After all, the Chiefs won 12 games this season and finished with the best record in the AFC behind an explosive offense led by MVP candidate Patrick Mahomes.

Kansas City averaged a league-best 425.6 yards per game this season while also pacing the NFL with an incredible 35.3 points per game, including five 40-point performances, one of which was a 51-point outburst in a 54-51 loss to the Los Angeles Rams back on Nov. 19.

However, as impressive as the Chiefs' resume is, they have not exactly been playing their best football of late.

Andy Reid's group ended the season by losing two of its last three games, suffering back-to-back losses to the Los Angeles Chargers and the Seattle Seahawks in Weeks 15 and 16.

Meanwhile, the Colts have won 10 of their last 11 games and rebounded to become just the third team since the AFL/NFL merger to make the playoffs after a 1-5 start.

This will mark the fifth postseason meeting between Indianapolis and Kansas City, with four of those games coming since the 2003-04 campaign. The last time the two clubs matched up was in January 2014, when the Colts rallied from a 38-10 second-half deficit to come away with a thrilling 45-44 victory.

Indy has won all four of its previous playoff showdowns with the Chiefs, with three of those four victories coming at home.
