The Indianapolis Colts are still feeling the loss of Andrew Luck, but there was once a chance that the team was going to select two quarterbacks in the 2012 NFL Draft. According to Jim Irsay, Indianapolis was ready to draft Russell Wilson in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft despite drafting Luck in the first round.

On Sunday, the Colts held a press conference and spoke to the media about the upcoming offseason. Before diving into the team's future, Irsay let it be known that Wilson almost landed in Indianapolis.

Looking back on the 2012 NFL Draft, the Colts didn't select anyone in the fourth round. However, the team made six more selections in the final three rounds and could've moved up into the fourth round if they wanted to.

But with the Seattle Seahawks selecting Wilson in the third round, it nixed the Colts' plan of double-dipping at quarterback. It is interesting to think about what could have been if Indianapolis ended up with Luck and Wilson.

Of course, there's the probable chance that Wilson or Luck was traded at some point in favor of the other. At the same time, there's the slim chance that Wilson would still be on the roster.

While Wilson is thriving in Seattle, the Colts are searching for a long-term solution to replace Luck since his sudden retirement in 2019. For the time being, Jacoby Brissett is the starting quarterback in Indianapolis. It's safe to say the Colts would re-do the 2012 NFL Draft if they knew what they know now.
