After a disappointing loss that could have swung the Colts way if Adam Vinatieri didn't miss a 43 yarder with a little over a minute left, Indianapolis received some encouraging news Monday as doctors confirmed that Jacoby Brissett knee injury is just an MCL sprain.

Early in the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Brissett's leg was rolled up on by his own linemen. Brissett was forced to leave the game and although being listed as questionable to return, the Colts played it safe by keeping their now franchise quarterback out.

With his injury being a simple MCL sprain, Brissett might have a chance to suit up this week against the Miami Dolphins.

Depending on how Brissett feels this week, the Colts' best option might be stick with Brian Hoyer who played great in Brissett's absence. Yes, the Dolphins picked up their first win on Sunday but that should deter Indianapolis from sending Hoyer out there in order to keep Brissett healthy for more important games down the line.

So far this season Brissett has outplayed nearly everyone's expectations after the sudden retirement of Andrew Luck weeks before the season kicked off. Led by Brissett, the Colts have one of the more surprising and impressive wins of the season as they were able to beat a Kansas City Chiefs team at Arrowhead Stadium with a relatively healthy Patrick Mahomes.

Brissett will need to be under center if the Colts want any chance going forward but for now, the news regarding his knee is a good sign for the team.
