The Indianapolis Colts and Jacoby Brissett are set to take on Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football this week. While the Colts are almost surely going to miss the playoffs after a heartbreaking loss in Week 14 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Brissett still has a lot to prove for his future as the starting quarterback for the Colts.

In a quote ahead of his matchup against Brees, Brissett opened up about the example that Brees has set for NFL quarterbacks.

“He just sets a great example for us. A guy, obviously that I grew up watching and then being in the league now and being able to see him on a more personal level,” Brissett said. “It’s awesome to see him play. What he does for the league, what he does for the position is unmatched. Just hopefully not this week.”

Brees is one of the top professionals in the game and has been dominant his entire career. Even at 40 years old, Brees is still playing at an elite level and isn't showing signs of slowing down. He did suffer a thumb injury earlier this season that forced him out of a handful of games.

Brissett is battling to prove that the Colts should stick with him as their starting quarterback in 2020. He has had a roller coaster season and a lot of people think Indianapolis should target one of the quarterback prospects available in the 2020 NFL Draft.

On Monday night, Brissett will have another chance to show what he is capable of. He will also have a chance to go up against a quarterback in Brees that he has a ton of respect for. This should be a very entertaining football game.
