The Indianapolis Colts may be in the market for a new quarterback. But Jacoby Brissett doesn't seem to be too worried.

While attending the XFL game between the Seattle Dragons and the Houston Roughnecks, the Colts' current starting quarterback dismissed talk of potentially being replaced next season.

Via Mike Florio of NBC Sports:

“I’m just doing my job,” Brissett told Diana Russini of ESPN from the sideline of Saturday’s XFL game between the Seattle Dragons and Houston Roughnecks.

There have been rumors that the Colts are looking to replace Brissett with a free agent quarterback such as Phillip Rivers. The 38-year-old quarterback has been linked to the Colts ever since he parted ways with the Los Angeles Chargers. The veteran had been the starting quarterback of the Chargers since 2006.

Brissett was given a contract extension before the start of last season. It seemed to indicate the Colts had confidence in the 27-year-old quarterback as their franchise QB in the aftermath of Andrew Luck's surprising retirement. However, Brissett fizzled after leading the Colts to a 5-2 start. Indianapolis finished the season 7-9 and Brissett had underwhelming production. He posted just 18 touchdowns against six interceptions for an 88.0 quarterback rating.

The former New England Patriots backup ranked 26th in the league in touchdowns and 18th in quarterback rating.

The Colts won a playoff game just a year prior to Brissett taking over. So it's no wonder why general manager Chris Ballard is looking for a better option for 2020.
