Running back Jonathan Taylor has been improving his performance in recent weeks for the Indianapolis Colts, but he won't be available on Sunday. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Taylor has been placed on the COVID-19 reserve list and will be inactive versus the Tennessee Titans.

Taylor is coming off one of the best outings of his career for the Colts in Week 11 versus the Green Bay Packers. This cam at the right time, after Taylor endured a rough stretch this season. The second-round pick out of Wisconsin finished last week with 90 rushing yards on 22 carries and also caught four passes for 24 yards.

Altogether, Taylor has accumulated 518 rushing yards and four touchdowns on the ground this season. He's also proven to be an effective receiving threat when his number has been called upon, hauling in 26 passes for 227 yards.

But on Saturday, Taylor has been placed on the COVID-19 reserve list, forcing him to miss this week's contest with the Titans. And with the league's protocols, Taylor will need to produce enough negative tests before he's able to be activated back to the roster.

With Taylor set to miss Sunday's NFC South clash, the Colts will rely on Nyheim Hines and Jordan Wilkins in the backfield. Hines and Wilkins have become more involved in the offense this season, especially Hines in the passing game.

The last time these two teams faced back in Week 10, Hines had his best game of the season. The former fourth-round pick in 2018 recorded a season-high 115 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns in Indianapolis' double-digit victory. Now, with Taylor sidelined, the Colts are going to need more from Philip Rivers and the rest of the offense.
