There were plenty of positive moments to take away from the Indianapolis Colts's 19-17 victory over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1 of the preseason. Unfortunately, there was also some bad as well.

Running back Marlon Mack was seen exiting the game with an apparent leg injury near the end of the first quarter. According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, Mack is expected to miss some time with a strained hamstring:

Colts initial sense is Marlon Mack will miss a few weeks with a manageable hamstring strain though they are still waiting final confirmation.

It is encouraging that the injury is not too severe. However, the nature of hamstring injuries can be a bit tricky, as they are known to linger if not fully treated.

The Colts have high expectations for Mack going into the 2018 NFL season. The former fourth-round pick showed plenty of promise as a bonafide playmaker in their meek offense last year. He finished the 2017 campaign with 358 yards and three touchdowns on the ground while hauling in 21 receptions for 225 yards and a touchdown.

The departure of running back Frank Gore has essentially paved the way for him to take on a potential workhorse role this season. That said, it is safe to assume that Indianapolis will take a cautious approach with his return.

Mack's absence will open the door for the other running backs on the roster looking to etch out a role for themselves before his return. Among them are Michael Turbin, Jordan Wilkins, and Christine Michael.
