The Indianapolis Colts may have surprised some people by taking Jonathan Taylor in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Despite the fact he plays the same position as him, Marlon Mack had an ideal response to Taylor's selection.

Reich said in a video released by the Colts, (via Pro Football Talk):

“Just to show you what great teammates we have, I texted Marlon after we picked Taylor … I said to him, ‘You know how we roll, we spread the wealth at running back. Keep you both fresh and dominate. Every great football team needs a great 1-2 punch in the running game.’ His response was perfect. He said, ‘Yes sir, let’s go, let’s go get it.’ Isn’t that awesome?”

Over the past two seasons, Mack has cemented himself as the No. 1 running back in the Colts' backfield. Just this past season, Mack rushed for a career-high 1,091 yards and eight touchdowns.

Besides Mack, Nyheim Hines has also seen a featured role over the last two seasons, catching 107 passes. Nevertheless, the Colts decided to select Taylor with the No. 41 pick of this year's draft out of Wisconsin.

Without a doubt, Indianapolis is going to do everything in their power to utilize all three of their running backs. As a result, that could cause Mack's individual numbers to take a slight hit in the upcoming season.

Seeing that Mack is entering the final year of his contract, Taylor was likely taken to be his eventual replacement in 2021. With that being said, Mack is prepared to do anything it takes to help the Colts win games in 2020.
