Indianapolis Colts rookie Parris Campbell could make his much-anticipated preseason debut on Thursday. The wide receiver returned to practice earlier on Monday following the rehabilitation of a hamstring injury that pulled him out of action for nearly four weeks.

On Tuesday, Colts head coach said “it's looking like” Campbell will play in the team's final preseason game; against the Bengals in Cincinnati.

Yes, he is a rookie. He needs to play, get a feel because he’s been out for a little bit,” Reich said, via Andrew Walker of the Colts official website. “The flip side of that is he’s played a lot of football, so he’s a smart guy. He’s stayed in it, so I think this is more a question about when we feel like he’s physically able to go.”

The Colts selected Campbell with the No. 59 pick of the 2019 NFL Draft. In his senior year at Ohio State, the speed merchant recorded 90 receptions for 1,063 yards and nine touchdowns. He tied with Andy Isabella for the fastest 40-yard-dash time at the NFL Combine (4.31).

Now healthy, Campbell feels like the same receiver that scorched BIG 10 defenses, as he said, per Walker:

“I feel back to my old self. I think I just need to get my feet wet, whether it’s a couple series [or whatever], but I’m leaving it up to the training staff and the coaching staff; they know what’s right for me. But practice has been good.”

Campbell is slated to start alongside T.Y. Hilton and Devin Funchess. His speed will undoubtedly make for an intriguing option for quarterback Jacoby Brissett. Whether or not he's truly ready for Week 1 is up to his progression from the injury.
