The now-Jacoby Brissett Indianapolis Colts offense got a boost to their on-field product on Monday. Rookie wide receiver Parris Campbell is back at training camp, per FOX 59/CBS 4 Sports' Mike Chappell. As Chappell puts it “that’s not a minor development.”

Campbell had been absent from practice for nearly four weeks with a hamstring injury. He'll have some rust to shake off and some catching up to do; but, he'll also work on creating a role behind T.Y. Hilton and Devin Funchess.

A speed merchant from the Ohio State Buckeyes, Campbell was putting on a show in the early days of training camp. After making back-to-back red-zone plays on July 29th, his coach, Frank Reich, was left impressed.

“The two plays he made in the red zone today weren’t hybrid, gadget slot receiver-type plays. They were legit NFL I’m-gonna-be-a-stud-receiver plays. Ran two phenomenal routes, made two big plays in the red zone. Everything we’ve seen so far has been a very positive sign,” Reich said via NFL.com's Kevin Petra.

At the 2019 NFL Combine, Campbell tied for the fastest time among receiver (with Andy Isabella); running a blazing 4.31. During his tenure at Ohio State, that speed put Big-10 defenses on notice. In his senior year, he compiled 90 receptions for 1,063 yards and nine touchdowns.

Campbell should slot in as the Colts' No. 3 receiver. His speed orientated skillset is similar to incumbent No. 1 option, Hilton.

If he can catch up from his playing time missed, Campbell may turn into one of Brissett's favorite options.
