The Indianapolis Colts are about two weeks into their training camp, and unfortunately for them, wide receiver Parris Campbell doesn’t seem any closer to practicing.

The rookie receiver has missed most of the practices with a hamstring injury, and now he’s reportedly experienced another setback in his healing process.

Speaking to the media yesterday after another practice via 1075 The Fan, Colts head coach Frank Reich explained the situation, noting that Campbell was getting close to recovery prior to the setback.

“He was kind of getting close and then he had a little bit of, I don’t want to call it a setback, but felt a little something yesterday so we are re-evaluating that,” he said. “Hopefully that wasn’t too much where you’re getting close and you push it a little bit to see if you’re ready. Maybe not quite ready. So we will have to wait a few more days to see how that settles down. Hopefully we can get him back soon.”

While it seems as if Campbell will be able to practice sooner rather than later, his absence has so far been concerning. Campbell has missed 10 straight practices for the Colts, and even if he does return soon, he might also have to miss the next preseason game for the team as well.

Campbell was drafted in the second round (59th overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Colts, so the team does have high hopes for the young player.

After posting up fairly decent numbers at Ohio State in his sophomore and junior seasons, Campbell exploded onto the scene in his senior season, tallying 90 receptions for 1,063 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Thankfully for himself and the Colts, his hamstring issue shouldn’t be a long-term one, and he should be able to get back to the field and help the Colts as they chase for another postseason run.
