Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor has now once again bolstered his resume for the 2021 NFL Offensive Player of the Year award with one impressive feat.

Taylor entered the Colts’ Week 17 home matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders with 1,626 rushing yards on the season, which led the league. Opposing defenses simply have not had much of an answer for the former Wisconsin Badgers star over the course of the campaign.

Overall, Edgerrin James held the record for the most rushing yards in a season in Colts franchise history. He balanced out the offense for longtime Colts quarterback Peyton Manning in the 2000 campaign, as he rushed for a keen 1,709 yards.

Taylor is now the current holder of this prestigious record in Colts history.

Over the third quarter of the Colts’ clash with the Raiders, Taylor reached 1,712 rushing yards on the season.

Taylor has simply been orchestrating a campaign to remember in Colts history. He has also reached 2,000-plus yards from scrimmage and 20 total touchdowns. He will have another opportunity to add to his stat totals on the season in Week 18, as Indianapolis will have a road matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Taylor’s NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year resume sure racks up quite well against the likes of Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady.
