The Indianapolis Colts find themselves barely hanging on to playoff hopes heading into Week 14. With four games left in the season, the Colts are 6-6. That puts them in third place in the AFC South and behind the Pittsburgh Steelers (7-5) for the final Wild Card spot.

Even worse, they have to face the next few games with a few men down. One of those is superstar wide receiver T.Y. Hilton.

Hilton has a calf injury that has kept him out since Week 12. The news only gets worse from there though. According to Kevin Bowen of 1075thefan.com, it appears Hilton is not sure if he will be able to return at all this year.

In the first seven seasons of Hilton's career, the wideout missed just four total games. This season, he's already missed five.

That hurts to have any receiver miss that much time, let alone one as dynamic as Hilton. Even worse, Hilton is the star of the offense, not just another big piece, but the true star.

In seven games this season, Hilton has 35 receptions for 378 yards and five touchdowns. Those numbers may not seem all that great, but as mentioned before, he's been dealing with injuries.

With the Colts hanging on by a thread, they really need their top guys as much as possible. So this is just about the worst news they could've received with T.Y. Hilton. By the sound of it, even if Hilton is able to return, it would not be until the very end of the season.

Indianapolis has defied a lot of odds to stay in the playoff hunt this year already though, what's one more hurdle.
