Indianapolis Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton missed practice on Thursday due to a calf issue, according to Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan.

Hilton was limited in practice on Wednesday before being hit with a new injury designation, which indicates that his status for the Colts' Week 9 matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday is up in the air.

The 29-year-old missed a game earlier in the year as a result of a quad injury.

In six games this season, Hilton has logged 32 catches for 360 yards and five touchdowns.

Hilton, who played his collegiate football at Florida International, was originally selected by the Colts in the third round (92nd pick overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft.

He played in 15 games during his rookie campaign, catching 50 passes for 861 yards and seven scores. The following year, Hilton broke out, hauling in 82 receptions for 1,083 yards while reaching the end zone five times.

Hilton then made his first Pro Bowl in 2014, beginning a stretch of four straight Pro Bowl appearances between 2014 and 2017. His best season during that run came in 2016, when he led the league with 1,448 receiving yards and snared 91 balls with six touchdowns.

The Colts have been one of the most interesting teams in the NFL this season. In spite of Andrew Luck's sudden retirement two weeks before the 2019 campaign, Indianapolis has gone 5-2 and has won three games in a row.

Indy has a half-game lead over the Houston Texans for first place in the AFC South.
