Indianapolis Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton is taking it day-by-day after aggravating his quad injury during Week 3’s game against the Atlanta Falcons. During the second quarter, Hill felt his quad acting up, and the doctor held him out to make sure he didn’t tear it.
“(Doctors) said there was no need for me to go back out there and probably tear it,’’ Hill said after the game via Fox 59. “They shut me down.’’
Hilton was asked on Tuesday about the status of his quad and he said it’s feeling better but his status for Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders is still up in the air.
“It’s doin’ better today,’’ Hilton said Tuesday afternoon. “It’s a little sore, but it’s doin’ better.’’
When asked if he was confident that he could go on Sunday he said he wasn’t sure since it’s still so early in the week.
“I don’t know,’’ he said. “It’s still Tuesday, so I’m just taking it day-by-day. Whatever happens, happens.’’
Hilton said that if he feels good he will try and play but ultimately it will be up to the training and coaching staff if he is allowed to play. It’s still early in the season but it’s clear that Hilton is Jacoby Brisset’s favorite target. Hilton has been targeted on 25 of Brissett’s 92 passes so far this season.
He has caught 20 of those 25 targets for 195 yards and four touchdowns. If he misses Sunday’s game that is a huge loss to the Patriots offense.
