A hampered T.Y. Hilton left it all on the field for his Indianapolis Colts. Following the team's 31-13 loss the Kansas City Chiefs in the divisional round of the AFC playoffs, the start wide receiver elaborated on the ankle injury that had been slowing him down for the last few week.

The good news is that Hilton won't need surgery and is simply being told to rest for a few months, according to Kevin Bowen of 1070 The Fan in Indianapolis.

Hilton sustained the injury on Dec. 9 against the Texans, a game in which he had nine catches and 199 yards receiving. While Hilton revealed the severity of his ankle ailment, it was a hamstring injury that kept him on the sidelines for two games this season. He also played with chest and shoulder injuries.

“I dealt with it,” said Hilton. “I gave the team everything I had… I finally get to rest, it needs rest.”

Hilton was responsible for the Colts' only touchdown in their loss to a Chief. He snagged four passes for 60 yards in the game. At the regular season's end, he had hauled in 76 receptions for 1,270 yards and six touchdowns.

Battling through numerous injuries surely earned Hilton a ton of respect in the locker room, his quarterback Andrew Luck said, “T.Y. Hilton is a baller. What that guy has been through with the ankle injury and his ability to perform at a top level is special.”

The Colts have the more cap space than any other team this offseason, and with Hilton, Luck and head coach Frank Reich Indianapolis is poised to succeed for years to come.
