Former Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck shocked the NFL world a few weeks ago when he announced his retirement from football. Luck left behind a Colts team that had a realistic shot at the Super Bowl, and the fallout has been as expected.

After the retirement, almost everyone dismissed Indianapolis as a true contender. But Colts wide receiver TY Hilton disagrees. Hilton defended the team, according to Pro Football Talk via The Athletic.

“This is the best team I’ve ever been a part of, we take nothing away from [Luck], but this team is good.” Hilton said.

The roster in Indianapolis is strong, but everyone knows that the quarterback is the difference between winning and losing. Career backup Jacoby Brissett will take the reins for the team. Brissett was considered one of the best backups in the NFL, but the difference between a good backup and a good starter is huge.

While Brissett may not be ready to play at a high level, the rest of the roster is. The offensive line is one of the best in football, and the receivers are underrated. But most importantly, Indianapolis fields a great defense. General manager Chris Ballard has done an amazing job of building the talent on defense. The unit is led by linebacker Darius Leonard, who earned the Defensive Rookie of the Year honors in 2018. The Colts added edge rusher Justin Houston to the unit, along with rookie cornerback Rock Ya-Sin. This squad remains underrated and will lead the Colts to victories.
