The Indianapolis Colts are in well in the mix for the playoffs heading into final three weeks of the regular season sitting just outside the final wildcard spot.

This has set up a critical Week 15 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys that could significantly impact their postseason chances. The Colts be put in a tougher position for the contest as former Pro Bowl wide receiver T.Y. Hilton's status for the contest is up in the air due to an ankle injury that has kept him out of Thursday's practice, according to Kevin Bowen of 1070 The Fan.

Hilton has now missed the last two days of practice that has levied some uncertainty around his availability for this week's game. He has been able to remain relatively healthy throughout the course of the season putting together another highly productive campaign as he has 62 catches for 986 receiving yards and six touchdowns. Hilton is coming off his best outing of the season as he posted nine catches on 12 targets for 199 receiving yards in the 24-21 win over the Houston Texans.

He has continued to remain star quarterback Andrew Luck's primary target in the passing game that has been a legitimate big-play threat that has brought another element to the offense. He has notched four 100 receiving yard performances this season including in three out of the last four games played. Hilton has proven to be one of the best deep-ball receivers in the league that has been an extremely valuable asset to the Colts' offensive game plan.

There should be more clarity on his availability over the next couple of days as his participation in Friday's practice will be indicative of where he's at physically with his ankle. If he's unable to play, it will put more of the responsibility to produce on tight end Eric Ebron along with wide receivers Chester Rogers and Ryan Grant.
