The Indianapolis Colts made a splash with the signing of former Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers. It appears the veteran is already looking forward to bringing his fiery passion in the 2020 NFL season.

According to NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah, Rivers is anxious to start a new era of his career in Indianapolis.

And his excitement seems pretty obvious:

“If you think Philip Rivers is normally excited, this was a whole other level of excitement.”

Rivers also told Jeremiah that he plans on sticking around with the Colts for the long haul.

“He said it's a one-year deal, but he hopes it's much longer than that. He thinks he's got a lot of good football left in him.”

It is certainly encouraging to see that Rivers has already embraced his future in Indianapolis. He has made it know secret that he plans on playing well into his mid-forties and he will now have an opportunity to make it come to fruition with his new team.

Rivers is already well-acquainted with the Colts franchise and their current coaching staff under Frank Reich. With an improved offensive line and wide receiver T.Y. Hilton as the No. 1 option in the passing game, he is confident that it will be a smooth transition for him under center.

The Colts are coming off a disappointing 2019 NFL season after missing the playoffs and finishing third in the AFC South with a 7-9 record. Regardless, expectations still remain as high as ever and they are hoping that Rivers can serve as a stabilizing factor under center for their potential resurgence in the 2020 NFL season.
