If it wasn't for Aaron Rodgers, the media would be gushing over Indianapolis Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett's impressive performance against the Houston Texans. Although the Colts were slightly favored going in, the Texans featured quarterback Deshaun Watson who was coming off two masterly performances.

Brissett had his best performance of the season on Sunday, throwing four touchdowns with no interceptions and only taking one sack, all while setting a career-high with 326 passing yards. Standing behind one of the best offensive lines in football doesn't hurt either as Brissett didn't need big-time production from running back Marlon Mack, who only managed to gain 44 rushing yards.

While many have given credit to Brissett for succeeding in the position he was put in after the sudden retirement of Andrew Luck, they haven't gone as far as to say he's the best quarterback in his conference, until Rodney Harrison spoke up.

The two time Super Bowl champion and former New England Patriot stated Sunday, on-air, that he thought Brissett was the best quarterback in the league right now, saying, “Heck, I think he’s the best quarterback in the AFC right now. … Who’s outplaying him right now? Tell me who’s outplaying him.”

It doesn't seem like Harrison just forgot that guy who plays up in Foxborough or the guy lined up on the other side of Brissett. Harrison's claim but seem a bit far fetched to some but look at where Brissett has led his team, first place in the AFC South and with big wins against the Chiefs in Kansas City and the Texans.

Brissett has 14 touchdowns on the season, which puts him in fourth and only one behind the leaders with 15, only three interceptions, and is also a top 10 quarterback in terms of passer rating. Brissett has been able to excel in Indianapolis' system while also taking care of the ball and limiting turnovers, which is all you can ask of a quarterback thrust into the starting role just weeks before the season starts.

He is still just 26 years old and has only been in the league four-seasons while starting in less than half of them. Brissett still has a ways to go in order to be considered amongst the elite quarterbacks in this league, but he is off to a terrific start. The Colts hope to have found something in Brissett as the successor to Andrew Luck could have been standing behind him the whole time.
