Wide receiver Ryan Grant is a free agent once again after the Baltimore Ravens decided to void his four-year, $29 million deal due to a failed physical. But Grant is not dwelling on that disappointment and is instead off to continue his search for a new home. He’s first headed to Indianapolis to meet the Colts, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Free agent WR Ryan Grant, whose deal with Baltimore was nullified Thursday, is flying to Indianapolis to meet with the Colts, per his agent Rocky Arceneaux, who added that, “If there were a game tomorrow, Ryan would be able to play.”

Grant is recovering from a Grade 2 ankle sprain which needed a couple of months rest, per Ian Rapoport. Schefter notes that Grant has since been cleared to resume working out, but the Ravens apparently didn't find him healthy enough. Grant’s agent’s remark about him being able to play tomorrow if needed was a not-so-subtle dig at Baltimore for that assessment.

It’s fitting that Grant is headed to Indianapolis immediately after his unfortunate incident. If there’s any franchise that knows exactly what he’s feeling at the moment, it’s the Colts, who were infamously deserted by Josh McDaniels after he had agreed to be the team’s new head coach earlier this offseason.

As it stands, the Colts could use another wideout after letting Donte Moncrief walk earlier this offseason. Grant is coming off a breakout year with the Washington Redskins last season. He had 45 catches for 573 yards and four touchdowns, which all surpassed his totals for his first three years in the league combined.
