Indianapolis Colts tight end Eric Ebron is coming off one of the most productive performances of his career, but it came at the expense of his body.

According to the latest injury report of the Colts, Ebron is currently nursing a bunch of ailments, including issues in his shin, quad, ankle, and knee, forcing him to miss the team’s practice on Wednesday.

Against the New England Patriots last week, Ebron erupted and led the Colts with 105 receiving yards and two touchdown grabs on nine receptions. With No. 1 wide receiver T.Y. Hilton and fellow tight end Jack Doyle out with respective injuries in the Patriots game, Ebron was able to win the attention of quarterback Andrew Luck, who targeted the former North Carolina Tar Heels star a total of 15 times.

Hopefully, Ebron’s did-not-practice designation on Wednesday was only a result of the Colts deciding to rest the hulking tight end following a heavy usage against the Patriots.

Indianapolis is currently gearing up for a Week 6 showdown with the New York Jets on the road. The Colts have lost all of their last three contests and need as many hands on deck to help the team snap its losing streak.

In the event that Ebron and Doyle get ultimately ruled out for the meeting with the Jets, the Colts will turn to the pair of Erik Swoope and Ryan Hewitt to hold the fort for the Colts’ tight end position.

On the season, Ebron has 255 receiving yards and five touchdown catches.
