It's always been said that Game 7 has the two most exciting words in sports and the good news for fans of the NBA is they will be getting two of them in the next two days.
Both Conference Finals will go the full 7 games for only the second time in NBA history (since Conference Finals were established back in 1971). The other time was 1979.
(Both series went 7 games in 1963 as well, but it was a Division Finals back then.)

It's not often that both conference finals go to seven games, and actually, it's only happened one other time back in 1979. That year, it was the Washington Bullets that took on the San Antonio Spurs in the Eastern Conference Finals.
On the Western Conference Final side of it, the Seattle SuperSonics took on the Phoenix Suns. It was the Sonics and Bullets who just happened to be the home team and they advanced to the NBA Final with Seattle winning it all.
Game 7s are extra intense, and Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart is ready for some blood to be shed, by both teams.
“It's just about winning the game now,” Boston's Marcus Smart said after the Cleveland Cavaliers' win in Game 6 forced Sunday's Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals in TD Garden via ESPN's Chris Forsberg.
“It's not going to be pretty. You've got to be able to get down and dirty. You can't go out there trying to look pretty. You've got to be ready for a dog fight.”
The Houston Rockets are hoping that they can get some good news and Chris Paul will be able to play, but even without him, the Rockets are still confident in what the team can do.
“We'll take that,” Harden said after Houston's 115-86 loss to the Golden State Warriors at Oracle Arena via ESPN's Tim MacMahon. “So nothing changes for us. We know what we have to do. … We're still confident. We're a confident group, and we've just got one chance.”
The Cavaliers and Celtics will do battle tonight while the Rockets and Warriors play Monday.
