Although the 2021 regular season is only a mere three weeks old, there is at least one thing that is abundantly clear: Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy is far and away the worst clock manager in the entire NFL.

With former Los Angeles Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn relinquishing that title after getting fired last season and ultimately becoming the offensive coordinator of the Detroit Lions, McCarthy is now clearly the worst of the worst when it comes to efficiency and game management.

Of course, McCarthy infamously said after Week 2 that neither he nor offensive coordinator Kellen Moore could see a clock and that one of the stadium's clocks simply cut out when they were trying to figure out whether or not to call a timeout to effectively end the game. Luckily for McCarthy and company, the Cowboys were able to overcome the Chargers thanks to a deep last-second field goal from place kicker Greg Zuerlein.

This time around, McCarthy elected to let the clock run out on the first half on Monday evening against the rival Philadelphia Eagles while once again being forced to explain his head-scratching decision.

“We decided to take the conservative approach,” the Cowboys head coach told reporters on Monday evening, via Jon Machota of The Athletic. “I was very comfortable with the command that our defense had in that game, just not even giving them a chance to put us in a backed up situation.”

Despite Mike McCarthy's continued blunders, the Cowboys presently sit in first place in the NFC East division at 2-1 on the year.

However, even Peyton Manning has something to say about McCarthy and his clock management:
