Former Oakland Raiders wide receiver Amari Cooper was infamously traded to the Dallas Cowboys midway through the 2018 regular season. With the Cowboys seemingly aiding Cooper in getting back on track after some struggles before ultimately leaving Oakland, the former first-round NFL Draft pick believes that he still has much more to prove going forward.

“I think I have so much more to prove,” Cooper recently told Jon Machota of Dallas Morning News. “I think I’m just scratching the surface. I think people haven’t seen half of what I can do out there on the field. I have so many more great plays in me, so much more good football ahead of me. My best football is ahead of me.”

Not only did Cooper comment on his individual expectations, but the former Raiders wideout also made a point to note that he would like to remain in Dallas for years to come.

“I really want to play well. I think everything starts with that,” Cooper added. “If you play good football, you’re going to be around a long time. And I do want to be a Dallas Cowboy for a long time.”

The Cowboys are indeed the reigning NFC East champions, though Dallas will surely have a tough road back to the postseason in 2019 as the rival Philadelphia Eagles appear primed to serve as a legitimate threat yet again. However, both the New York Giants and Washington Redskins are not expected to give either the Cowboys or Eagles a run for their money next season.
