New England Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore is capable and does the NFL's best wide receivers. On Sunday, he will have the opportunity to face yet another one of the league's premier pass-catching talents in Dallas Cowboys' Amari Cooper.

Cooper, in his first full-season in Arlington, Texas, is piecing together an excellent season — he has 56 receptions for 886 yards and seven touchdowns in 10 games. For Gilmore, he stands as a test, considering he ranks Cooper as one of the NFL's best.

He’s a great receiver,” Gilmore said on Friday, via Henry McKenna of the Patriots Wire. “He can run every route. He’s strong after the catch. He makes big catches. He’s definitely at the top — one of the best receivers in the league.”

As pointed out by Mike Giardi of ESPN, quarterback Dak Prescott has a 116.1 passer rating when targeting Cooper on the boundary. However, the Patriots allow the lowest completion rate on said throws (41.8%). Sunday's contest will be one of iron sharpening iron.

“He makes big catches, tough catches, even when a guy’s covering him,” Gilmore said of Cooper. “He’s fast, quick. When you’re one of the best receivers in the league, you can run every route and make everything (look) the same. … He makes everything look like a go ball, then chops his route off. He makes everything look the same, and he has a good quarterback (Dak Prescott) who’s throwing him the ball that makes him better. I’m looking forward to it.”

Very few receivers have gotten the best of Gilmore in 2019. He is considered to be the NFL's best at the position for a reason. However, Cooper can be the one that finally excels against the Pat. With a full week of healthy practice behind him, the possibilities are endless for the Cowboys wide-out in his toughest test of the season.
