The Dallas Cowboys will have to make plenty of decisions this offseason, including whether to retain Amari Cooper. Ahead of the Cowboys' final regular-season game, Cooper made it clear that he wants to be in Dallas next year.

When the Cowboys acquired Cooper for a first-round pick last season, many assumed that the team would sign him to a long-term deal. But with Dallas needing to pay plenty of players, Cooper could see his stay with Cowboys come to an end after 2019.

Last year, Cooper immediately built a rapport with Dak Prescott after being traded from the Oakland Raiders. In his first nine games with the Cowboys, Cooper had 53 receptions, 725 yards, and six touchdowns.

The talented pass-catcher began the 2019 season with 53 receptions for 848 yards and seven touchdowns in nine games. But after his hot start to the season, Cooper has seemingly cooled off in his past six outings; totaling only 22 catches for 249 yards and one score.

Besides Amari Cooper, Dallas has to worry about re-signing Prescott, Byron Jones, Randall Cobb, Robert Quinn, and Sean Lee (among others). With the wide receiver market expanding in recent seasons, it's safe to assume that Cooper commands a deal worth around $20 million annually.

Provided that, the Cowboys may have to use the franchise tag on Cooper. That is unless the team decides to use one of their tags in 2020 on Prescott until they can sign him to a long-term deal.

The Pro-Bowl wide receiver seems to be content with his current situation in Dallas. Despite his intentions of wanting to stay, the Cowboys could be inclined to allow him to walk in free agency.

The Cowboys' season has been very painful on so many levels. Amid all this bad news, however, the Cowboys should be able to retain Amari Cooper and maintain a pitch-and-catch combination with Dak Prescott which will give the team (and very likely its new head coach) a chance to build from a solid foundation.
