Dallas Cowboys star receiver Amari Cooper is entering the final year of his contract and for some players that would be a big concern but that isn't something Cooper is too worried about. Cooper admits this is unfamiliar territory for him because this is his first time his contract has come up, but he is letting his agent deal with that, and he is just worried about earning a new contract on the field.

“It's kind of weird situation, just being that I've never been in this situation before, talking about a contract,” Cooper said Saturday while attending 105.3 The Fan's Mudbug Bash in Arlington via the Dallas News. “But also, I'm under a fifth-year option, so I'm not too familiar with it. I really don't ask my agent many questions. I'm not really worried about it that much.

“I'm more focused on actually playing and really earning the respect and then the contract.”

Cooper is set to make $13.9 million this upcoming season and the expectation is that he will make at least $16 million a year with an extension. When the Cowboys traded with the Oakland Raiders for Cooper they made it clear that they weren't just trading for his services for two years, they wanted to get a long term deal done.

Last year with the Cowboys Cooper hauled in 53 receptions for 725 yards and six touchdowns. He gives a deep threat to Dak Prescott and the offense and he has proven time and time again why is a difference back in Dallas.
