The Dallas Cowboys were able to secure another one of their key pieces on offense by re-signing wide river Amari Cooper this offseason. It seems he is hoping to stick around for the long haul.

Cooper had been courting his fair share of lucrative offers before signing a five-year contract extension worth $100 million this offseason. He said during an appearance on 105.3 The Fan that he hopes to stay in Dallas for the rest of his career:

“I love being a Dallas Cowboy. I love everything about it. I think about it every day,” Cooper said. “Just the aura of being a Dallas Cowboy, you can't beat it. I want to be a Cowboy for life.”

Cooper's comments are indicative of just how accustomed he had become to life in Dallas. More importantly, he put his money where his mouth is after reportedly turning down multiple, lucrative offers to sign elsewhere.

Cooper's desire to stay with the cowboys is certainly understandable. He enjoyed quite the resurgence after they invested a first-round pick in order to bring him over from the then-Oakland Raiders. It seems the change of scenery may have been just what he needed after being named a Pro Bowler in consecutive years.

Although it remains to be seen if Cooper will be in Dallas for the rest of his career, he has at least managed to make it happen for the foreseeable future. He is now hoping that the last piece of the puzzle in quarterback Dak Prescott will get some long-term security next.
