The Dallas Cowboys are getting one of their offensive weapons back. According to NFL Network's Jane Slater, wide receiver Amari Cooper will return to practice on Monday. Slater notes that head coach Jason Garrett has “been careful with him following left foot muscle strain.”

Cooper, a two-time Pro Bowler, strained his left foot early into training camp. But, it hasn't required surgery nor has he been under consideration for the injured reserve. The Cowboys are playing the injury with caution and have given indications, throughout his healing process, that he will be back for Week 1 against the New York Giants.

Specifically, Cooper is dealing with plantar fasciitis; inflammation at the bottom of the foot that causes heel pain, it's caused by high stress. But, Cooper has mentioned that though the ailment is a setback, he can play with it; but he won't, as he's now healthy.

“I mean I played with a lot of foot injuries. High ankle sprains. All those things, so I’m pretty good at playing with foot injuries. But I don’t think I’m going to have to play with it,” Cooper said two weeks ago via ESPN's Todd Archer.

“I’m not worried about it at all, because I know if it does linger, it doesn’t matter. I had 1,000 yards when I played on plantar fasciitis before.”

Though he's played through it, the Cowboys weren't ignorant in forcing him to do so in practice. Instead, they erred on the side of caution to make sure he's 100% by the time he faces a division rival.
