Dallas Cowboys quarterback Andy Dalton is just one many players who have tested positive for COVID-19, and just one of millions who have likewise contracted the disease worldwide. Fortunately, Dalton has since mostly recovered, but he was not actually asymptomatic and he's still trying to regain his sense of taste and smell. The 33-year-old recently opened up about his experience battling the virus.

According to Dalton, the first days were the toughest:

“The COVID, it hit me hard the first day I had it, then it gradually started feeling better,” said Dalton, via Todd Archer of ESPN. “By the end of it, I was ready to get out of quarantine and get back up here.”

Dalton also admitted that it was a tough experience for him throughout:

“It was a crazy three weeks for me, but I'm glad to be on the other side of it,” Dalton said. “I'm glad to be back with everybody and through those three weeks.”

Dalton is one of the few players who exhibited symptoms of the virus, so we're totally glad that he's okay now. It was an undeniably close call for him, though, with the coronavirus death toll now eclipsing the 1.5 million mark worldwide.

The good news here is that Andy Dalton was already able to practice in full, and he appears to be ready to return for the Cowboys' matchup against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. The 2-7 Cowboys are in the midst of a four-game losing skid right now, and they sure could use the services of their star quarterback at the soonest possible time.
