Quarterback Andy Dalton has spent the entirety of his professional career with the Cincinnati Bengals, seeing excellent teams come and go. But after just a few months as the backup signal caller for the Dallas Cowboys, Dalton is all-in on what the team can accomplish in 2020, setting no bar too high.

“The roster is so talented. From top to bottom, there’s talent everywhere,” Dalton said in a recent interview with Sports Illustrated. “I think I saw something [that we have] 16 Pro Bowlers on this team. We have high expectations, and we should. That’s the thing right now; it’s training camp, everybody’s expectation is to win a Super Bowl. But we feel like we have a realistic shot at that and we’re going to do everything we can to get there.”

The Cowboys haven’t so much as won multiple playoff games in a year since 1995, the last time that they won a Super Bowl. But with a roster loaded full of talent on both sides of the ball, lack of playoff experience may not hinder the group as much as outside prognosticators think.

From the supremely talented offensive triumvirate of Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, and Amari Cooper, to the standout defensive stars in DeMarcus Lawrence, Gerald McCoy, and Leighton Vander Esch, the Cowboys have a path to claiming best team in the league honors this season.

Dallas is set to open the 2020 year on the brightest stage, Sunday Night Football, against the Los Angeles Rams on Sept. 13, opening their quest for a Super Bowl ring.
