Dallas Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence has emerged as a rising star in the NFL over the last year behind his highly-effective play as a pass rusher.

This has continued to be the trend this season as he leads the league with 5.5 sacks through the first four games played. According to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, Houston Texans Bill O'Brien had some high praise for the Pro Bowler ahead of their matchup against the Cowboys on Sunday afternoon.

“Great length, athleticism,” Texans coach Bill O'Brien said. “He plays very hard, plays hard on every snap. He’s chasing the ball sideline to sideline, chasing the quarterback. He can wreck a game.”

Lawrence's play has put him in the position to earn this type of compliments tossed his way as he has been a huge factor on the edge of the defensive line over the last year. He has anchored the Cowboys' defensive line that has been among the most effective unit to create pressure on opposing quarterbacks. Lawrence is coming off his best outing of the year where he registered 3.0 sacks in the 26-24 win over the Detroit Lions in Week 4.

His play has been key in setting the tone for Dallas defensively while limiting opposing team's offense with him continuing to get in the backfield. This season, the Cowboys are currently third in the league with 14.0 sacks that have helped his team possess one of the league better defenses against the pass.

The Texans will have the task of trying to limit Lawrence's impact on the game as the Texans have notably struggled to provide consistent pass protection for quarterback Deshaun Watson through the first month of the season. This could turn out to be one of the key aspects of the game that could determine how the game unfolds.
