The impending free agency of Dak Prescott has been a prominent headline for the Dallas Cowboys all season and members of the roster continue to speak out on the topic. CeeDee Lamb, who put together a stellar rookie season for the Cowboys, was very vocal about wanting Prescott back under center.

“It’s no secret we want Dak back,” Lamb told USA TODAY Sports on Wednesday. “I trust that the guys in the office are definitely going to make the right decision. They know how much Dak means to us and how much we lean on him.

Lamb only got a chance to catch passes from Prescott in the first five games of the season before Prescott suffered a season-ending ankle injury in Week 5 against the New York Giants. But in the five games that he played with Prescott, Lamb compiled 29 receptions for 433 yards and two touchdowns.

CeeDee Lamb was on pace to finish the 2020 season with 93 receptions for 1,386 yards and six touchdowns if he had Prescott as his quarterback. However, the standout rookie wide receiver would catch passes from Ben DiNucci, Andy Dalton, and Garrett Gilbert for the rest of the season.

Amid Dak Prescott's absence, the Cowboys saw a significant drop off on offense, struggling to score points through the air. And as he comes back from a serious injury, Dallas is tasked with signing him to a long-term extension this offseason.

The front office of the Cowboys has made it clear that they want Prescott as their franchise quarterback for years to come. As Dallas discusses an extension with Prescott, Lamb is anxious to be catching passes from No. 4 again in 2021.
