The scrutiny given to the Dallas Cowboys should finally mean the end of longtime head coach Jason Garrett's tenure. Additionally, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones will reportedly dismiss the entire coaching staff.

The NFL Network's Jane Slater explained that Jones told Garrett's staff that coaches on expiring deals could begin seeking new opportunities.

Slater also shot down the report that Garrett and the entire coaching staff had been let go on Monday. Apparently, Garrett spent the day speaking to each player in exit-interview routine following the conclusion of the 2019 NFL season.

The Cowboys finished the season at 8-8 and needed to win in Week 17 against the Washington Redskins along with a Philadelphia Eagles loss versus the New York Giants. The first part of the contingency occurred on Sunday, but the Eagles broke through and defeated the Giants at MetLife Stadium to dash Dallas' postseason hopes. Furthermore, the Eagles also beat the Cowboys the previous week for what turned out to be in practicality the NFC East division title game.

Missing the playoffs in 2019-20 comes one year after finishing 11-7 and losing in the NFC Divisional Round. Garrett has been installed as full-time head coach for America's Team since the 2011 NFL season; since then the Cowboys only reached the postseason on three occasions, failing to break through to the conference championship game ever.

While it's not official yet, it looks like Garrett's time in the Big D is kaput, and his coaches and coordinators can begin finding employment elsewhere.
