Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliot and the Dallas Cowboys received some good news on Monday after star right guard Zack Martin has been removed from the reserved/COVID-19 list.

However, as Mike Fisher of Sports Illustrated noted, it came with a bad news as Randy Gregory replaced Martin in the COVID-19 list. Furthermore, wide receiver Michael Gallup has been placed on the injured reserve due to a calf strain he sustained during the second half of the Cowboys' season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

While the developments on the status of Gregory and Gallup are disappointing, the Cowboys will be happy that Zack Martin is back. A six-time Pro Bowler, the 30-year-old vet is a crucial part of Dallas' offensive line.

Martin was sorely missed by the Cowboys against the Buccaneers, and his return in time for Week 2 is critical after the suspension of right tackle La'el Collins due to substance abuse violations.

Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliot are poised to benefit the most in Martin's return. Hopefully, though, the team can bounce back after their narrow 31-29 defeat to Tom Brady and Co in Week 1. The Cowboys play the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium this Sunday.

As for Gregory, he could still make it in Week 2 if he produces two negative tests in a 24-hour gap. As ESPN reported, the veteran defensive end is asymptomatic and vaccinated. Meanwhile, Gallup could be out for the next three to five weeks.
