Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott may possibly be joining the long list of injuries in Week 2 as he heads to the medical tent following a gruesome hit to his chest area against the Atlanta Falcons, per Jane Slater of the NFL Network.

Prescott was providing a successful passing game for the Cowboys before going down with an injury, completing 21 of 26 passes for 268 yards. He'd enjoyed an average performance in a Week 1 loss against the Los Angeles Rams as he completed 25 of 39 passes with one touchdown.

The Cowboys can maintain a leveled offense with backup quarterback Andy Dalton able to slide in if Prescott's injury reveals to be a serious as it appeared. They are looking to bounce back after losing 20-17 to the Rams against a Falcons team that is also searching for its first win of the season. Dalton is coming off a 2019 season that saw him complete 59.5 percent of his passes with the Cincinnati Bengals despite a stretch where he was benched for multiple games.

Week 2 has seen many injuries after being nearly null in Week 1. This was speculated to occur after the league resumed play with no preseason and a delayed start due to COVID-19 that saw the season nearly in jeopardy. The extended offseason for many players could be contributing to the excessive amount of injuries that've transpired so far in Week 2.

Even with Dalton's presence, having Prescott in is the more preferable option. The two-time Pro Bowler enjoyed a 99.7 quarterback rating last season and would be heavily relied upon in the weeks to come.

Prescott later checked back into the game for the Cowboys after leaving the medical tent. Shortly afterwards, he rushed for his second rushing touchdown of the game.
