The Dallas Cowboys ended the 2021 regular season with a bang, taking down the Philadelphia Eagles to the tune of a 51-26 win in Week 18. Dak Prescott, however, reminded his teammates that their job is far from over.

In fact, for Prescott, they are just at the starting line after making the playoffs.

“Real shit starts [now],” Prescott said as he walked to the locker room following Saturday's game, via Jon Machota of The Athletic.

No lies there from Dak Prescott for sure. The Cowboys know very well they haven't proven anything yet, and any season without the Vince Lombardi Trophy is a failed one. There are simply no moral victories in the NFL.

Head coach Mike McCarthy agrees with Prescott's remarks, adding that they simply view their big win over the Eagles and their NFC East-topping 12-5 record “as the starting line.”

For what it's worth, Cowboys fans can take a lot of positives from the game. While there were concerns why Dallas decided to play Prescott in a meaningless contest, those discussions were quickly erased with their noteworthy display.

Prescott threw for five touchdowns to bring his season tally to 37, breaking Tony Romo's record for the most TDs in a single season. The Cowboys clicked in all facets of the game, which is certainly a crucial springboard as they take on tougher competition in the postseason.

The Cowboys need every confidence-booster they can get. As Prescott suggested, they are far from achieving their goal this 2021 campaign.
