If the Dallas Cowboys want to repeat as NFC East champions next year, they're going to need big seasons from Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper. The duo looked good in their first games together last season, and the hope is their partnership will get even better with a full offseason to work on chemistry.

Cooper clearly has lofty expectations for himself, saying recently he's setting a goal of 2,000 yards for 2019. Asked about Cooper's comments, Prescott was ecstatic.

“I love it. That means I’m throwing the hell out of it, so I love it,” per Charean Williams of ProFootballTalk.com. More seriously, Prescott added that “I love that confidence, honestly. Just that right there.”

“For a guy that came in, people say he didn’t talk much or whatever happened on the last team he was [on]. For him to be as confident as he is, to be playing and practicing the way he’s been doing. . . .Our chemistry has grown so much in just the one offseason we’ve had. I’m excited for this year. I don’t think his goals or the things that he said or too far-fetched or out of reach,” he continued.

So far so good, although it won't mean too much until the lights came on. While they're both looking forward to their work on the field, each player has serious business to attend to off of it. Both Cooper and Prescott are heading into the final years of their rookie deals, and they'll both be unrestricted free agents after the season.

The Cowboys' passing game got taken to another level once the Cowboys traded for Cooper last year, so they know they need to keep him and Prescott together. Owner Jerry Jones has made it very clear he'll be extending both players, so it should only be a matter of time.
