Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott became the first player in the history of the NFL on Sunday to throw for over 450 yards in three straight games, according tracking data provided by StatMuse.

Throwing 41 for 58, with an astounding 502 passing yards and four touchdowns—along with an interception—against the Cleveland Browns, Prescott led Dallas to a 38-point performance but still recorded a loss against a Cleveland squad that scored 49.

Despite the historic production from the former fourth-round pick, the Cowboys have stumbled to a measly 1-3 record through the first four weeks of the NFL season, thanks in large part to a defensive unit that ranks 30th in points allowed.

Playing under a franchise tag assigned to him by the Dallas front office, Prescott was reportedly offered a five-year deal worth $175 million during the offseason, but he chose to forgo the extension in search of a larger payday. While the passer's performance would seem to indicate a more substantial offer will be forthcoming, the club's struggle to win does add another dimension to the talks.

Having replaced long-time head coach Jason Garrett with Mike McCarthy, the Cowboys  had hoped the move would vault Prescott into the upper tier of quarterbacks around the league, as the franchise looked to capture their first Vince Lombardi Trophy since the mid-1990's. That Dak's success has come without the Dallas organization experiencing winning, will likely stir questions over the quarterback's ability to win among the rabid fanbase that surrounds the franchise.

While much will be disputed over the coming days, what is undisputed is that Prescott is putting up numbers nobody has ever seen before.
