Although Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott may be in the midst of negotiating a long-term contract, this has not prevented him from doing his part in helping bring justice for George Floyd.

The death of Floyd continues to spark protests throughout the United States. Prescott took to Instagram to condemn the racial injustice in America while offering up his own $1 million pledge to usher in police reform:

The death of Floyd clearly hit close to home for Prescott and it seems he has put the onus on himself to try and spark a change as part of a league that features predominately African American players.

Dak Prescott has one of the biggest platforms to raise awareness on the issue of racism in this country as the quarterback of ‘America's Team' in the Cowboys. Of course, the NFL's recent history in curving player protests regarding social injustice leaves much to be desired.

While there were a number of players that followed Colin Kaepernick's protests by raising a fist or taking a knee during the national anthem back in 2016, team owner Jerry Jones prohibited any of his players from kneeling or displaying any other form of protest while the anthem was played. He may need to now loosen his restrictions given Prescott is not the only player on the Cowboys to speak out against the racial acts by police officers.

Defensive end Demarcus Lawrence has been among the most outspoken players on social media following Floyd's death. Meanwhile, fellow quarterback Andy Dalton has also denounced the social injustice toward the African American community.
