As the Dallas Cowboys are trying to prepare themselves for the upcoming season, they are constantly being asked about Ezekiel Elliott. Dak Prescott is hearing the questions but he isn't biting on the bait from the media.

When Prescott was asked about Elliott's holdout, he realizes that football is a business. The Cowboys have been without their All-Pro running back as he holds out of training camp in hopes to land a new deal.

The clock is ticking for Dallas to get a deal done with Elliott as the regular season is a few weeks away. Although, Prescott doesn't seem too worried about the situation currently.

The Cowboys quarterback knows that Elliott is vital to the offense. At the same time, he knows not to speak about the situation to create any drama on the team.

Besides Elliott, the Cowboys also need to sign Prescott and Amari Cooper to long-term extensions. Getting all of them signed to contracts that pay them their market value is going to be tough. Especially with quarterbacks getting over $30 million a year now.

Jerry Jones may not believe that having a league-leading rusher leads to Super Bowls but there's no doubt that the Cowboys need Elliott back with the team. In 2018, Elliott had 2,001 yards from scrimmage and nearly had half of the team's total yards.

Additionally, the offense is built to go through the running game and it eases the pressure off of Prescott. Currently, Darius Jackson and rookie Tony Pollard have gotten reps with the first-teamers while Elliott is away from the team.

For the time being, Dallas and Prescott shouldn't be concerned with Elliott being absent.

Although, if his holdout continues into the regular season, they'll miss his presence on the offense.
