Dak Prescott and the Cowboys are coming off a 16-8 loss to the Carolina Panthers. It was a disappointing start to their season, but it wasn’t something that was not expected, as the Cowboys entered the contest as the underdogs. They will give it a go again this Sunday against the also winless New York Giants, whose safety, Landon Collins, appeared to have belittled Prescott’s ability as a quarterback when he recently spoke with reporters.

Obviously, Prescott has a phone that’s plugged into social media, so it’s not also shocking to know that he’s read about Collins’ comment. When asked about it by reporters on Friday, the former Mississippi State Bulldogs star had quite a laconic reply, per David Helman of DallasCowboys.com.

Landon Collins may have felt emboldened to talk such junk to Prescott knowing that the Cowboys’ quarterback hasn’t been playing particularly well dating back to last season. In fact, Dak Prescott hasn’t generated more than 200 passing yards in seven of his last nine starts. Against the Panthers last week, he threw for only 170 yards with zero touchdowns on 19-of-29 completions.

The Cowboys are hoping that Landon Collins had lit a fire underneath Prescott, who will be dealing with the safety and the Giants this coming Sunday in Arlington.

The last time the Giants and the Cowboys shared the field, Prescott had 332 passing yards and three touchdowns without an interception in 30-10 road win in Week 13 of last season.

Prescott is 2-2 with 992 passing yards, five passing TDs, and two picks in four career games against the Giants.
