The NFL saw yet another one of its brightest stars go down in Week 14 after Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz suffered a torn ACL in a marquee matchup with the Los Angeles Rams. Since everything needs to be connected, this has somehow resulted in questions about Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.

More on that in a second.

Not only has Wentz been added to the extensive list of notable injured players, but it also raises further speculation as to what could have been done to avoid the injury.

As a result, there is concern for other mobile quarterbacks like Wentz whose style of play exposes them to more risks than those who strictly stay in the pocket most of the time. Among them is Dallas Cowboys second-year quarterback Dak Prescott. However, Prescott does not plan on changing up his approach anytime soon.

By way of Drew Davison of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram:

“No, I’m not going to put that in my mind,” Prescott said. “I don’t think anybody is. That’s part of the game. That just comes with it. Us running quarterbacks, we know that we’re susceptible to that when we’re running.”

While it is easy to say that Carson Wentz would not have gotten hurt if he never ran, there is no promise that it would not have happened some other way. That is simply the nature of football.

Prescott has been well-regarded as a natural dual-threat quarterback ever since he came into the league. He further proved that notion by setting the Cowboys' franchise record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback with six in his rookie year.

Prescott has even had to tote the ball much more in the 2017 NFL season with the loss of star running back Ezekiel Elliott to suspension, combined with their fluctuating passing attack.
