It was clear where the Dallas Cowboys think they need to improve based on where they drafted, on both sides of the line. They took defensive tackle Trysten Hill in the second round and in the third round added offensive lineman Connor McGovern. The team also added two more defensive linemen in the last day, and Stephen Jones said there was a real method to adding these guys.

Jones doesn't think they were physical enough in that area the last couple of years and hopes this new competition will help with that.

“That’s where you want to be strong on the fronts. At the end of the day with the offensive line and the defensive line, that’s where you want to be physical,” executive vice president Stephen Jones said, via ESPN.com. “That’s where we want to dominate. And if you can dominate those fronts, then good things happen.”

Coach Jason Garrett points out just how important it is that the team is strong up front, especially on the offensive side of the ball. If the offensive line can't block, it doesn't matter what the rest of the offense does; the team won't have much of a chance.

“Every week it starts up front,” coach Jason Garrett said. “Don't care how good your quarterback is, how good your receivers are, if the offensive line can't protect and give him time, then he's not going to be every effective. Don't care how good your running back is, if your offensive line isn't good, he has no chance.”
