The Dallas Cowboys have canceled Wednesday's practice after a Pittsburgh Steelers player tested positive for COVID-19, per Nick Eatman of Cowboys.com.
The Cowboys and Steelers played each other in Week 9 at AT&T Stadium, with Pittsburgh coming away with a 24-19 win.
Steelers tight end Vance McDonald tested positive for COVID-19. He played 20 snaps against the Cowboys and caught one pass for two yards.
“Yes, we are aware of the (positive test),” Dallas head coach Mike McCarthy said in his Monday press conference.
“We've been instructed to put some additional protocols. That's really the mode we're operating in. We're going into virtual meetings as we go through the process. We will not practice on Wednesday.”
The Cowboys are 2-7 on the season. They are tied with the Washington Football Team in the NFC East standings.
Dallas has Week 10 off as its bye week. McCarthy and Co. will face the Minnesota Vikings on the road in Week 11.
All signs point toward the Cowboys missing the playoffs this season. Although they competed well against the undefeated Steelers, they are still a walking disaster on both sides of the football and desperately miss star quarterback Dak Prescott.
Hopefully, no one on Dallas contracted COVID-19. The team will surely keep the fans updated if anyone does test positive moving forward.
