Last week, police investigated the home of Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott because of an apparent 30-person party he threw that also included Ezekiel Elliott.

Obviously, with everyone going on with COVID-19 and social distancing, some people were not too happy about it, and during an interview on 105.3 The Fan, Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones said he spoke with both of his players.

“We’ve certainly communicated with Dak and Zeke,” Jones said, via Jon Machota of The Athletic. “And I think they’re certainly aware now of how sensitive these situations are. I don’t think you’ll be seeing that any more. They are certainly guys we have the utmost respect for. I certainly know they understand the sensitivity of the situation we’re in, it’s certainly very serious, and something we know they understand.”

Prescott is also in the middle of contract negotiations with the Cowboys, and it was reported earlier on Tuesday that the quarterback will not be taking part in Dallas' virtual offseason program unless he has a long-term deal in place.

The Cowboys slapped a franchise tag on Prescott last month. The two sides have until July to reach a multi-year contract.

Elliott was in a similar situation last offseason. While he was not a free agent last spring, he was angling for a new deal, and talks dragged out through training camp and preseason.

Finally, just before Week 1 of the 2019 regular season, Dallas struck a five-year, $90 million extension with Elliott, making him the richest running back in the NFL at the time.
