The Dallas Cowboys are looking to fill a much-needed void at the safety position and address their needs in the secondary by visiting with George Iloka on Thursday.

After a lot of speculation and rumors surrounding Earl Thomas, the Cowboys did not reach any kind of deal with him and are now doing their best to fill the position to the best of their abilities. Iloka is nowhere near the player Thomas is, but he is a solid player and will cost substantially less than the deal worth $55 million that Thomas received.

Iloka played most of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals before signing with the Minnesota Vikings. Surprisingly enough the Bengals released Iloka, and the Vikings were quick to pick him up. Iloka likely won't remain without a team for long, but exactly who it will be is up in the air for now. Dallas has a promising future with a lot of potential on defense, but the team's secondary is incredibly shaky.

If the Cowboys want to complete the roster they have on defense they'll desperately need to pick up some help in the secondary and Iloka is a very solid option for them. Dallas is on the verge of seeing a very successful season after making key pickups and retaining key players.

The Cowboys have bright, young talent headlined by linebackers Leighton Vander Esch and Jaylon Smith along with star defensive end Demarcus Lawrence. Iloka could be a fantastic addition to add cohesion to the secondary and complete the team's promising defense.
